No overnight stays permitted at Cracker Barrel stores

From editor Chuck Woodbury
August 16, 2002

Many of you have reported from time to time of staying overnight in Cracker Barrel store parking lots, and I have printed some of your letters on FreeCampgrounds.com. This morning I received an email from Cracker Barrel, which states that overnight stays are not permitted. The message is below.

Dear Mr. Woodbury,

It has recently has come to our attention that Cracker Barrel Old Country Store is mentioned on the Free Campgrounds web site regarding suggestions for non-traditional overnight parking for the RV traveling public.

While we appreciate the interest in Cracker Barrel, we must ask you to remove the mention that recreational vehicles can park overnight at Cracker Barrel locations. Cracker Barrel does not allow overnight parking at any of our stores. At the present time, we don't have the necessary security measures in place to accommodate overnight parking.

Cracker Barrel is pleased to offer RV parking at most of our locations and welcome all guests during business hours.

I thank you for your time and appreciate you attention to this matter. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact me.

Sincerely,
Jean Bruckert
