Description
Level site with electricity just north of the tracks (yes) on Main Street north through town. Up to 4 nights free or $25 per week. About 10 sites. Dakota Drug Company soda fountain (south 2 blocks)is the only place in the US to still sell a "whirl-a-whip."

This is not a bad campground, but the noise level was worse than Wal-mart. The trains were not the serious problem...the campground is located in a residential area and noisy trucks drove up and down the street all during the night. To find the campground, turn off Hwy 2 and follow the Hwy. 8 North signs through town, then it is located just beyond the railroad tracks near the entrance to the golf course. Also, if you want to experience a Whirl-a-Whip, you have to stop by the Dakota Drug before 5:45 pm when the soda fountain closes. Unfortunately, we arrived at 6:03 and the entire store was closed up.

The Whirlawhip mentioned is worth a drive to try. Great gift shop also. There is a motel on State Route 2 and a swimming pool in town for the kids. Great place to visit.
