Description
It's not a very big parking lot but I saw RVs "camped" there every time I passed by. One guy even had his tripod TV satellite dish set up in front of his rig. It's right on the main road (US 101) through Eureka (it becomes Broadway Street in town), so it looks like it would be pretty noisy. Address is 4325 Broadway Street.

Watched the cops kick two RVs out tonight at 9pm. Nice of them not to wait until 3am. There are "No Overnight Parking" signs in the parking lot. Real obvious.

Still posted No Overnight Parking as I found on Feb 14th 2009.

We went to K-Mart in 2006 and stayed in the parking lot for 4 hours, then went up to King Salmon and camped there. If you go south of there is a lot of rest areas and you can camp overnight. I have camped in pull-outs. When you are tired, you have to rest. Most officers will let you stay 8-12 hours. I refuse to drive at night; it is a danger to my health. There is always another day. Life is too rich!

November 2006: No longer allowed. It's OK by K-Mart but police throw you out. There is a Texaco truck stop 1 mile north on 101 across the street from the mall. It's perfectly fine there.

Ditto with Milo and Frank's comments. Courtesy goes such a long way and these rest stops can save frustrated, tired and weary travelers.

I always thank the "host" by shopping/ordering from them before and after they allow me to sleep for the night. Notice, for the night, not weekend or until...? It's just common courtesy.

How sad that "One guy even had his tripod TV satellite dish set up in front of his rig." Do we want KMarts (or any other business) to stop quick overnight stays because some people need their home away from home ALL the time? These businesses are allowing this to us "gratis"! Please keep a LOW profile when staying overnight at the generosity of these merchants.
