Description
Public campsites in the Pisgah National Forest along a gravel road in the mountains. Sites at the bottom of the mountain are better suited for RVs and require a fee. Sites along the roads into the mountains have level gravel pads, fire rings and lantern posts. No water or facilities. A few of the free sites can accomodate small TT and pop ups. A very curvy gravel road.

We went here for our very first camping trip. Got there late and that was not fun setting up in the dark. They were adding showers when we camped there in August 2007-we had nothing stolen.

We camped here in October of 07 and were robbed. Our Vehicle was broken into with things stolen and some of our basic camp gear was stolen that was left set-up. Local Sheriff told us that this was not uncommon occurence here. We were just away from camp for a few hours doing some hiking when it happened. I would not suggest leaving anything unattended in this remote area.
