Read about this campground on this site. For $10 it is a great little place. We parked about 20 ft from the water. It was so nice and peaceful. Much nicer than the RV park we passed coming into the area. We stayed one night on our way to Yellowstone. Highly recommend. We parked here with a 35ft FW and did not unhook. Plenty of room and not crowded at all.

Total quiet last night. Just us and a bald eagle perched above. Clean bathrooms were open, no flush toilets. Take Monument Rd exit and then follow Lake Desmet Rd short distance and you will see an entrance on the left.

Update 2007: $8/night now but even with the development around the lake, we still have our campground.

We stay there every time we go up to the Big Horn Mountains: Friday night at Lake Desmet, then on up the mountain the next morning. This is a wonderful place to stop! Clean restrooms, no litter problems and most sites are surrounded by high bushes to ensure privacy! Nice picnic tables and fire rings. We highly recommend this stop on your travels.
