Fantistic and Quiet. Real bad road (HIGH CLEARENCE TRAILERS A MUST) but a paradise when you get there. Exit I 10 go south to the frontage road. Continue east about 1/4 mi. to a dirt access road. Take the access road about 8 miles to the unimproved B.L.M. campground

I spent 1 night there last February, 2009, beautiful setting, quiet, only 2 campers during a weekday. It's actually an oasis with a grove of palms. A good place for hiking. Petroglyphs abound on the rocks near the campground. An abandoned cabin now owned by the government can be reached by a short drive from the campground. Verizon Wireless phone and internet worked from there as a cell tower is located near I-10. if this is the place i visited and it sounds like it. i found the road on the old hwy so. of I-10 going east. i started at desert center town itself. there were a couple of roads going so. i stopped and read the signs and located the correct one. it goes SSW into the mts. approx 10 miles. you cross a dry wash which has a nature trail in it and then you come to the huge palm trees and camping area. the rocks near the wash have petroglyphs on them. about a mile on west is an old cabin with every thing inside behind plastic.DO NOT DESTROY!!!!

I stayed at Corn Springs March 2006. The 8 miles of gravel road to the springs from I-10 is very rough: average speed about 12 MPH. This is desert camping! Chemical toilets and water are available. Lots of hiking trails and old mines to explore. Very quiet place with lots of solitude and peaceful times. Very few campers present. The Springs, inactive since the 1920s, are beautiful with lots of palm trees and birds present.

I am a soon-to-be new RVer who lives in the same county as this location. Using a county road map and a pair of dividers, I see it as being-- From the I-10 and state highway 177, go east on I-10 approximately nine miles. Turn right onto Chuckwalla Valley Road. In less than one mile, turn right onto Corn Springs Road. That will parallel Corn Springs Wash. Further distance is unknown. Last two roads may be dirt roads?

I found a Corn Springs Campground (unimproved) located near Palm Springs. It's actually closer to Desert Center on Highway 10. The campground is approximately 7 miles SE of Desert Center as the crow flies in the Chuckawalla Mountain Wilderness. Longer drive!
