We stayed here June of 09. A maximum stay of 3 days in a 30 day period. No fee, however, a donation box is available.

I recently stayed the limited 3 nights at Lewis Park and enjoyed it much, can walk to town (less than 1 mile). However, the water is not marked potable so I would be leery of it, as all spigots were painted red which generally is not drinakable. Electric only at the site. The local police even checked on me when I wasn't "seen outside my rig" one morning. I felt safe and secure, since I'm traveling alone.

We spend a very restful night there on our way from NM to the Black Hills. June 6, 2008. A very nice park, camping sites. Here are some directions: North Bound traffic, after getting off I-25 at the first exit to Wheatland, turn right at the first traffic light follow this street to the second traffic light and turn right, go one block turn right again follow this street to the park. South Bound Traffic after getting off I-25 at first exit to Wheatland, keep on the road until you get to the first traffic light, turn left, go one block, turn right following this street to the park.
