The Baylor Pass Trail is open to hiking and equestrian use. The Pine Tree Trail is open to hiking only. Las Cruces, NM is the nearest city (around 22 miles) west on HWY 70. I am the campground host and it is supervised. Fee is 3.00 per vehicle per day. All federal/national and golden age passes as accepted. NO STATE passes.

There is NOT a dump station at Aguirre Spring campground. The host confirmed this. There is a sewer connection at the host site, which is 4 miles from the rest of the campground, but he would have to move his RV for anyone else to use it, and that's not going to happen. There is a free dump at 12th Street on the main road through Alamagordo, just 2 blocks north of the zoo, but that one does not have potable water. Fresh water is available from a faucet at the Aguirre Spring host site. This is a BLM campground and the fee for 2010 is just $3. The fee envelope says 1/2 price for those of us with an appropriate federal pass, but the host said it is free with those passes.

Very nice campsite, narrow paved road in, had a 38' motor home towing a car, don't attempt if you are not a confident driver otherwise proceed cautiously around the hairpin turns.Visited in February, temps 60F to 25F, had the campground to ourselves, when you reach the pay station make an immediate right if you are driving a large unit, there are several nice sites that will accommodate you on this loop. Nice sites, table on concrete pads, garbage can at each site, good views of the mountains and valleys below.

The Aguirre Spring Campground campsite is a great place to camp. However, there is no regular supervision and I have been warned it is a party harty site for the locals. It is also not for larger RVs. The roads are narrom at the end and switch back.
