Description
Ohio rest area rules limit parking to 3 hours but go on to state, "Visitors wishing to sleep must sign in on the register sheet." In response to my inquiry, Christine Hunt of Ohio DOT replied on 2/17/2009, "I can tell you that the highway patrol generally does not enforce the 3-hour parking rule."

I have worked in an Ohio rest area, as have my brother and sister-in-law. The "no camping" rule is intended to prevent people from setting up tents, etc., not to stop anyone from getting a night's rest.
