Saul's Creek is a well managed multiple use National Forest Service area about 5 miles outside of Bayfield, Colorado. There are natural gas facilities which can have noticeable noise outside of a vehicle, but compared to some older facilities they are relatively silent. The area is most popular with local horse riders, and, during season, hunters. As the area is relatively small I'd avoid it during hunting season. Access is signed from Hwy 160, 2-3 miles east of Bayfield.

We camped there in our 27' trailer for 4 days and nights. It was very quiet - an oil truck pumped some oil for 1 hour the whole time. Convenient, only 25 minutes from Durango, where we had business and did shopping. Pretty, good flat roads - plus our Verizon Phone got decent internet for our laptops. Good for large camping groups.
