Flying J has recently started charging for dumping, making it less attractive as a blacktop boondock site.

The previous comment recommends just pulling in and parking overnight at a Cracker Barrel. Don't do it without first obtaining permission from the Cracker Barrel Store. This is their national policy -- RVers have to obtain permission from the store to park overnight.

I've stayed at Flying Js in Virginia and Pennsylvania. They have nice restaurants, cheap gas, dump stations and fresh water. It's free to stay in their parking lot but noisy. I just pull a pillow around my ears and sleep, but if the constant "shower # such and such now available" for truckers bothers your sleep, push on to the closest Cracker Barrel. We pull in, park in their assigned RV parking and sleep with little or no noise. Police frequently patrol them. Then get up when you feel like it and buy breakfast before you head down the road.

New to RVing and just bought our first one...owner said she'd mail us the owner's manual but now she seems to of lost it. If anyone can scan and send or send a copy to us, that would be great since we are at a complete lose on how to connect or disconnect elect., water, etc... Thank You

As a 69 year-old disabled veteran living on Social Security, I appreciate Chris for submitting this new free campground. It gives me an opportunity to try out my first used class C RV close to home before venturing on a long trip. I am not able to do much physical work so this gives me a tryout of all the things I have to learn like connect and disconnect to electric, water and dumping station. Your website is an answer to a old man's prayer of learning to camp at my age. Thank you !
