Free Camping in
Las Vegas and Reno
Dear Reader: We are updating these listings now (April-May, 2004). The listings on this page now are in many cases outdated. We except to have our updated directory posted by June, 2004.
Here are some recommendations by our readers about free places to stay the night in in Las Vegas and Reno.
Las Vegas
Last March I spent several nights in the parking lot behind the Frontier (all the way to the back of their lot). In fact, security came by and directed me to park across the marked spaces. There were more than a dozen RVs there every night and lots of empty parking lot between them and the parked cars. I also spent one night behind the Luxor/Excalibur, where there were many other RVs, but there was more freeway noise than at the Frontier. -- BOB (7-00)
If you want to be a short distance away, about 3.8 miles, check out the new Sam's Club adjoining the remodeled Wal Mart Super Store just off I-215 at Eastern Ave., and to the south. Additionally, Sam's gas station (no diesel) also has the cheapest prices. (Sam's membership required). -- FREE CAMPGROUNDS CLUB
Reno
In Reno I see many RVs, some with sliders out, at the back of the North parking lot of the Peppermill, so they must not have a problem with it. In addition there are always many RVs on the street behind the Atlantis and at the back of the parking lot west of the Atlantis (across Virginia Street). -- -- BOB (7-00)
